Service oriented architecture is a new paradigm to exponentially reduce the development time of applications. In a service oriented computing environment, consumers interact with service providers through service brokers to get a service done. The presence of a central service broker is essential in SOA paradigm. The roles of a service broker can be explained in terms of functionalities such as security, trust, storage, service composition apart from service registration and searching. In this paper, we have analyzed and discussed some of the additional roles of the service broker.
